Link Building Tips, Diversify Your Links to Appear More Natural

Most link builders focus on quantity and quantity of links. For the most part, they draw the same conclusion: that quality is far more important than quantity. But I rarely read blogs where builders discuss how significant link diversity is for developing a well-rounded portfolio of inbound links. Yes, quality and quantity of links play a major part in search rankings, but so too do the array of links that are pointing to your website.

Link diversity affects many different aspects of your website:

* Influence –links from a variety of sites tells Google your site is trusted across the Web
* Traffic – an array of links creates new, different opportunities for traffic and conversions
* Greater visibility - more links across a range of sites casts a wider net reaching a broader audience
* Authenticity - deep links from the same website looks contrived and manipulative and can result in penalties

You’ve probably heard the figure of speech that links are like votes of confidence from one website to another. So just as a politician with a distrustful amount of votes might be suspected of running a scam, evidence suggests that Google chooses not to “elect” certain websites with suspicious linking patterns to important search query ranks.

Moral of the story is that having a variety of websites linking to you is far more effective than acquiring links from only a handful of sites.

Hedge Your Bets by Diversifying Your Links

The Google algorithm fluctuates and changes on a daily basis and nobody knows for certain what the future holds for linking signals. By having a diverse portfolio of links, you’re establishing a good hedge against the unknown, like having a diverse stock portfolio. This way you’re keeping things varied and creating protection your website in the event Google decides to blacklist certain links or websites that you have in your portfolio.

What’s more, link variety makes the most sense. Building links from the same sites will result in diminishing returns over a period of time. The Google algorithm is smart enough to identify and isolate distrustful linking patterns. When it does, it devalues those inbound links, thereby negating any impact of link building. Diversifying your link building efforts solves that problem.

How to Create Link Diversity

In short, you diversify your link portfolio by obtaining links from an assortment of sites. Here’s a list of resources to consult for link diversification.

* High PageRank sites that are thematically relevant
* Low PageRank sites that are thematically relevant
* High PageRank sites that are just outside of thematic relevancy
* Low PageRank sites that are just outside of thematic relevancy
* Social bookmarking sites
* Web directories
* Blog directories
* Blog comments
* Forum comments and signatures

Also, be sure to target sites that allow followed and nofollow links as well. Granted, they may not pass any link juice, but this piece of advice is more about looking natural to the search engines than it is about link juice. In addition, the right links even if they aren’t followed still drive traffic to your site, which is one of the goals of link building anyway.

Link Diversity: The Sign of a Trusted, Influential Website

A healthy link portfolio consists of links of quality, quantity but also of diversity. Diversifying your link patterns to appear authentic is crucial to link building. Research, evidence and a lot of common sense suggests that acquiring links from varied websites has a positive effect. For active link builders, the key to managing your link diversifying efforts is to be highly organized. Make sure you keep a thorough journal of all your link work and link acquisitions, so you can eliminate confusion and redundancy and maintain control of your link building endeavors.

How To Get The Best Online Backup Service

Reliable data backup and recovery are critical in today's information-driven age. Therefore there has been major rise in the demand and popularity for online remote backup solutions in the recent years.

Online backup solutions are better than traditional backup media’s such as CDs and DVD etc because you always have access to them from anywhere and everywhere. Online backup services help protect against hard drive failures and file corruption on your computer. These online services allow users to store their most important or bloated files (such as music and videos) on a secure remote server. Their security features are often better than most in house data security. Some services allow you to share files with others as well.

What to look for in an online backup service provider

Choosing a secure and reliable service provider is very important to get secure as well as easy to use online backup solutions.

To get the best data protection and accessibility and high volume of storage we need to define few criteria:

Check and compare the service features: Does the service have all necessary and required features like automatic backup, data security, does it support incremental backup, does it allow remote access and also remote file sharing?

Is the service reliable: Many companies offer Free / Trial service before upgrading to their premium service, you can try those and see if the service is reliable enough to give access to our precious data.

Easy to use interface: User friendly interface is important especially for the not so technical user. Check if the service provider has an easy to use and install software ability to backup data from Windows as well as the Mac.

Service Performance: Some service providers have bad system design and the result is their service becomes very slow.

Cost comparison: Due to competition lot of companies are slashing their prices to a considerable extent, but dont just go for cheapest / free service. Similarly don't over pay for the service unless you really think you are getting the best service for the amount you are paying.

The Significance of Search Engines

It is the search engines that ultimately get your website to the notice of the potential clients. When a topic is typed for search, practically directly, the search engine will separate through the millions of pages it has indexed about and present you with ones that match your subject. The look for matches is also ranked, so that the most related ones come primary.

Remember that a potential client will most likely simply look at the opening 2-3 listings in the search results. So it does matter where your website come out in the search engine position.

Further, they all use one of the top 6-7 search engines and these search engines attract more visitors to websites than anything else. So finally it all depends on which search engines the customers use and how they rank your site.

It is the Keywords that play an important role than any expensive online or offline advertising of your website.

It is found by surveys that a when customers want to find a website for information or to buy a product or service, they find their site in one of the following ways:

* The first option is they find their site through a search engine.
* Secondly they find their site by clicking on a link from another website or page that relates to the topic in which they are interested.
* Occasionally, they find a site by hearing about it from a friend or reading in an article.

Thus it's obvious the most popular way to find a site, by search engine, represents more than 90 of the people looking for a website will use methods other than search engines.

All search engines employ a ranking algorithm and one of the main rules in a ranking algorithm is to check the location and frequency of keywords on a web page. Don't forget that algorithms also give weightage to link population (number of web pages linking to your site).

When performed by a qualified, experienced search engine optimization consultant, your site for high search engine rankings really does work, unless you have a lot of money and can afford to pay the expert. With better knowledge of search engines and how they work, you can also do it on your own.

Social Networking’s Foray into the Business World

Use Your Credit Wisely

Credit is becoming a necessity these days. Even if you can afford to pay for all your purchases in cash you wouldn’t be very comfortable walking around knowing that you have a large amount of cash with you. Credit cards can easily solve your dilemma and also makes it easy for you to track all your expenses. There are also rewards that you can earn if you use your cards wisely.

However, let’s forget the numerous perks you can get via credit card and check in with Mr. Reality: that plastic card can also make it so much easier to spend more than you can afford to pay. Here are a few tips for you to control your spending sprees and use your credit cards wisely, at the same time maintaining all the perks you can get from them:

• Pay your bills on time. Having balances raises your interest each day. The sooner you pay, the lower your balance and interest. Paying on time will also ensure that your credit scores will remain positive.

• Pay more than the minimum balance. Even if you pay the minimum, you still have a balance remaining. The more of a payment you make, the lower your monthly minimum payment becomes. If possible, pay the whole balance every month to avoid debt and bad credit.

• Need or want? It is advisable to use your credit cards for emergency purposes. However, It’s been proven by numerous studies that credit cards make people spend too much. It helps to think before making a purchase, ask yourself if it’s simply something you want or if it’s something you really need.

• Don’t get too many rewards cards. One rewards card is enough. That way, it’s easier to achieve points rapidly instead of spreading these points to several cards. Remember: the more points you accumulate, the more rewards you reap. Having several cards will only slow down your progress there.

• Check transaction fees. Transaction fees are usually 3% of your balance which can be quite high considering the amount is accumulated over time – especially if you are transferring huge amounts of money.

• If you find it hard to change your credit habits, leave your card at home when you go out or ask someone reliable to keep it for you. This can also be very helpful if you have been accumulating much debt already for it prevents you from adding more debt to your account.

• Avoid checks. Using the checks your credit card company sends you is like doing a cash advance. This can bring upon hefty fees and often, high interest rates.

Credit debt can be overwhelming and can change your life drastically. Making wise decisions concerning your credit cards can get you out of credit debt and can improve your lifestyle greatly!

Overclocking My PC So It Is Super Fast

Overclocking is the process of making a computer component run at higher clock rates rather than the standard clock rates. It is basically of three types Processor , Graphics Card and RAM .In the following article overclocking of a processor is shown by taking amd 2800+ as the base. Processor overclocking is the most common type of overclocking done by Pc users these days.

It is achieved by manipulating the CPU Multiplier and the FSB(front side bus of the motherboard).Increasing the FSB is your main aim as it allows you to take more juice out of your CPU. While Overclocking several measures have to be taken , foremost being that there should be enough power supply to deal with the increased FSB.

Second consideration that should be kept in mind is about the temperature of the CPU.You dont want your CPU to run at 90C as it will result in burning of your motherboard and nothing else. In order to overclock you should know how the bus speed is calculated. All processor speeds are based upon two distinct factors, bus speed and multiplier. The bus speed is the clock rate at which the CPU communicated with the memory and I/O devices. The bus speed is commonly measured in MHz. The multiplier is the multiple that the processor will run at compared to the bus speed. Lets explain this by taking an e.g. of a P4 machine.

133 MHz x 18 multiplier = 2394MHz or 2.4 GHz

Some more examples are provided below.

CPU Model Multiplier Bus Speed CPU Clock Speed
Athlon XP 2500+ 11x 166 MHz 1.83 GHz
Athlon XP 2800+ 12.5x 166 MHz 2.08 GHz
Athlon XP 3000+ 13x 166 MHz 2.17 GHz
Athlon XP 3200+ 11x 200 MHz 2.20 GHz

For overclocking your processor you should have Everest and Prime95 installed on your pc and Memtest86+ burnt on CD .Your next step is to open
Everest, go to Motherboard then SPD and just below CPUID, look at the Real Clock Value and take it down. Then look at your HyperTransportClock value.

Now you have on SPD which is just below Memory on the left hand menu. Take a look at the Memory Timings part, look at the values that your Ram can operate at and take them down.

Now next step is to restart your pc and enter your BIOS. After entering the BIOS go to that part which allows you to select the FSB of your CPU (different across different motherboards). The most basic way to overclock your CPU is to increase it in short increments.

The value should be increased by multiples of 5.So the first value after increment should be 205. Save and exit the BIOS and then restart the computer. Make sure your pc is set to boot from CD and have Memtest86+ disc in the drive. After restarting the Memtest will start. Make sure that you dont abort in between of any test as the errors are shown in the later tests. I recommend running the whole program just to guarantee absolute stability. After all the tests are complete restart your pc and boot into windows , open Everest in the background and start prime95.In Prime95 choose the Torture Test option and let it run for a few minutes.

If Prime95 was able to run good for a long time and no errors were found, then press escape key and congrats, you have just overclocked your PC.Go back to the bios and increase it a further 5 MHz, to 210. Then run memtest again, if it still passes then boot into windows then use the Stress Test on Prime95 again. Continue this until either Memtest or Prime95 returns an error, and then revert back to the last value that passed both tests.

There are lots of chances that the first test i.e. Memtest fails. This is because your ram has reached its absolute maximum operating frequency. To resolve this problem, we setup a divider in between the CPU and RAM ratio. In order to this restart your pc and go into that part of your Bios that lest you modify the RAM timing.

Once you have found that you need to change it from 200Mhz.Change it to the next lowest value, mine is 166 MHz. Now, because we are going to further increase the FSB, the HyperTransportClock is going to also increase even more. So in order to combat this, we lower it in the BIOS. I'll change mine from 800 MHz to the next lower value which is 600 MHz for me.

Now increase the FSB up to the next value i.e. 205 MHz. If it works, then go back to the Bios and keep trying the values until you get an error in either memtest or Prime95. If once again Memtest returns an error before Prime95, you can just knock the Memclock Index Value down to the next value i.e. 133mhz. Using this technique you will be able to safely determine the maximum speed for your processor to run at, as long as you run Memtest and Prime95 to verify that there are no problems. Once Prime 95 returns an error, it means that is the "max" for your CPU, but there is a way to squeeze a bit more out of it, but that method will produce a bit more heat.
Go into your BIOS and increase your CPU VCore temp. This will produce more heat, but will also give the CPU a bit more room to increase the FSB.

In this article till now we have talked about how to overclock the CPU.However there are lots of factors which decide whether the CPU can be overclocked or not. The first and foremost is a motherboard and chipset that has a BIOS that allows the user to modify the settings. Without this overclocking isn't possible as you won't be able to change the clock rates i.e. FSB.These days the trend is that most of the computers offered by major brands disable this option, as a result overclocking also gets disabled. Due to this people interested in overclocking tend to buy specific parts and build their own systems or from integrators who sell the parts that make it possible to overclock.Despite the chipsets ability to change the clock rates other components such as RAM should be able to handle these changes. So if someone tends to overclock the CPU synchronously with the RAM then the RAM should be able to work at higher clock rates.

Another important consideration which has to be taken regarding overclocking is the voltage. Every computer part works for a specified range of voltages. It is possible that while overclocking voltage goes out of range for a particular part and hence the pc becomes unstable. When overclocking the bus or multiplier speeds, the signals are more likely to get interference. To combat this, one can increase the voltages to the CPU core, memory or AGP bus. There is a particular limit on the amount of additional voltage that can be applied on the CPU.If too high voltage is applied then the circuits inside the CPU can break or melt down easily.

The main problem which arises as a result of overclocking is heat. Today's high-speed computer systems already produce a large amount of heat. Overclocking a computer system just compounds these problems. Hence anyone interested in overclocking should first research on the different cooling options available. Cooling can be of the form of CPU heat sinks and fans, heat spreaders on memory, fans on video cards and case fans. Key to good cooling performance is the clean airflow of hot air-Cooling is of two types air cooling and liquid cooling. Air cooling is the cooling described above. Liquid cooling is far more complex than air cooling. However liquid cooling provides a higher performance and generates less amount of noise. The chances of short circuiting increases when liquid cooling is used as decent amount of liquid flows between the pipes of the cooling equipment which is spread all around the cabinet.

Overclocking is a very tricky process and should be carried out extremely carefully. It is not advised to overclock your CPU straight away to higher clock rates. You should increase your FSB by small amounts. It is best to test the system fully in a taxing application for an extended period of time to ensure the system is stable at that speed. This process is repeated until the system does not test fully stable. The performance boost after overclocking can be substantial but a lot of considerations should be taken before trying out the steps used for overclocking. It is important to know the risks involved, the steps that must be done to obtain the results and a clear understanding that results will very greatly.

As told before Graphics cards can also be overclocked.Overclocking the graphic cards is a much easy option as they are generally done with the help of software's such as NVIDIA's cool bits or Riva tuner. Graphics card generate enormous amount of heat and without any proper cooling overclocking of graphic cards should be avoided. Below overclocking of a graphics card is explained by taking ATI 9800 pro as the base.

In order to overclock ATI cards you must have Riva tuner which can be downloaded from here.

The first step in overclocking your graphics card is to click the button next to customize word which is low level system settings. Now a new screen pops up which shows the Core Clock and Memory Clock speeds.

Now you simply have to change the core clock speed and the memory clock speed little by little and keep testing them. Click on the checkbox at the top that is labeled "Enable low-level hardware overclocking".Also Make sure that the "Apply overclocking at Windows startup" box is TICKED.

So that was in brief about how to overclock a graphics card. Now we will have a look at the advantages and disadvantages of overclocking in general.

Advantages

1) Allows you to make your lower end CPU run at higher clock rates which reduces the need of buying a high end CPU.

2) Performance in games, encoding video applications increases drastically.

3) Benchmarks of your CPU and GFX card increase significantly. It makes sure that full juice is taken out of the CPU and GFX.

Disadvantages

1) The lifespan of the processor decreases. It is said that if you overclock your processor to a great extent then it lives 8-9 months less than its lifespan.

2) Considerable amount of heat is generated and without any proper cooling this can be dangerous. Several cases have been recorded where the Processor or GFX card has burnt out.

3) High performance fans and high quality cooling systems provide great amount of noise. The noise is pretty loud to disturb someone listening to a song at low volume.

4)Overclocking will result in the termination of the warranty of the product. So if anytime any problem arises it will be difficult for you to get the product replaced or repaired.

MPLS Multi Protocol Label Switching

Means MPLS Multi Protocol Label Switching. It is a protocol rather than a specific type of service. It can be used to provide any type of circuit that the needs of customers, the DSL Optical connectivity.

Make better use of network paths and increase the speed of your Internet connection is one of the features of MPLS. It was formed by the Internet Engineering Task Force, or IETF. He used the same technology to make the current World Wide Web a better place. It is very important role to play in the management of large enterprises without coperate today. There are many previous technologies, such as frame relay and ATM sharing the same objective as MPLS, but they could not live up to the mark. MPLS is now himself keeping in mind the failures of the ATM. Some of these technologies are already replaced by MPLS. Although both MPLS and ATM to provide a connection orianted service for transporting data, the major difference is in the field of transport and means of encapsulation.

The best feature of MPLS is its ability to label data packets. In traditional IP networks, packets are routed based on data from the network layer header. The arrival of each packet to a router essentially forces to "decide" where it should go without regard to its actual content.

MPLS significantly accelerates the routing process by labeling each packet, it happens on the network. Each router stores information on how to handle different types of packages, as indicated by the head of their label. This directly translates into greater efficiency by reducing the load on the routers of the organization and free up resources. Speed packet transmission are increased by the load on the network infrastructure is reduced.

The advantages inherent in MPLS are most noticeable in situations where real-time traffic (voice, video) is set to be given preference over data packets that do not require the same amount of speed or priority such as electronic mail. In an IP network, all traffic is treated equally. This becomes a critical problem when demand for bandwidth to temporarily exceed the capacity of the circuit and the router starts to discard packets. Emails to receive the same network as a priority real-time video or audio conference, and often the result of telephone calls or video transmissions of inferior quality, as the two battle against one another priority. On the other hand, an MPLS network assigns high priority real-time voice and video. E-mail traffic and other links that are not as likely to be affected by the latency will be pushed to the back of a router's queue to make room for the movement of high priority, as MPLS offers different qualities of service (QoS) across the network. This significantly improves application performance in real time and has an imperceptible effect on lower priority, such as e-mail traffic, where delay in milliseconds is almost impossible to detect.

In a word, give your MPLS high priority, mission critical IP traffic priority to reach its destination without any interaction from you and without significant changes to your network infrastructure.

Using Online Video Websites to Promote Your Blog

Blogs
have literally taken in the internet by storm. It seems as if just about everyone has a blog. Blogs are so popular that it there is a good chance that you have one. While blogs are nice, it is sometimes difficult to get them seen. Many blog owners, maybe even yourself, are unsure how to go about generating more internet traffic. Luckily for you and other blog owners, there are a number of different ways that you can work to increase the number of page views that your blog receives.

The first step in getting traffic to your blog is to make sure that you have an interesting topic. If you are writing about your personal experiences, you may find that not everyone wants to read about them, that is unless you lead an adventurous life. However, if you blog on a wider range of topics, such as working from home, saving money, or being a good partner, you are automatically likely to get a bigger audience. This is because more internet users, especially ones that you do not know, would be more willing to read information on these topics, rather than your daily adventures or lack of adventures.

Once you have found a topic that you would like to write about, you will need to start creating your blog, if you haven not already. When making your blog it is important that you write content that will be useful to your blogs general topic. It is also important to include lots of content. Content is what most search engines use when picking up websites. In the event that your blog gets indexed by a search engine, you will find that your blogs traffic should automatically increase. This is because a large number of internet users use search engines to find what they are looking for.

Although a high search engine ranking may help to increase the amount of traffic your blog sees, it is sometimes difficult to do. Most individuals do not go further than the third or fourth page, when looking at search engine results. This means that if your blog is not considered to be high ranking, you may not get the results that you were hoping for. However, this does not mean that you should give up. Instead, it means that you just have to find another way to promote your blog.

One of the many other ways that you can go about promoting your blog is through the use of online video websites, particularly the ones that are free to use. Online video websites are websites that allow internet users to upload videos that they have created. Once uploaded, these videos can be viewed by thousands, if not millions, of internet users. If you are looking for a fun and low-cost way to market your blog, you are advised to give online video websites some though.

Before uploading your video, to an online video website, you will have to make your video. To do so, you will need a recording device. The best devices to use include camcorders and webcams. When making your online video, it is important not to make your video sound too pushy or like spam. It may be a good idea to state the purpose of your blog and what can be found there. You may also want to record yourself or someone else visiting your blog to showcase your blogs features. You could also take still shots, also commonly known as screen shots. These shots will allow you to post pictures of your blog pages. Having those pictures float through your online video is a great way to show internet users what your blog is all about.

Once you have finished making your video, you will need to upload that video to your computer. Once your recording device is hooked up to your computer, it should be recognized by a moving making software program. These programs will not only allow you to save your video, but edit it as well. Once your video is saved, you will need to follow the uploading directions for each online video website that you would like your video or videos to be uploaded to.

It is important to note that you are not guaranteed to see an increase in your blogs traffic, but why not at least give it a shot? With most video websites being free to use, there should not be any risks associated with incorporating your blog into your next online video.

How to Handle Runtime Errors

Runtime errors are generated when computers running certain program applications encounter issues. An example of this is the runtime error code 7. This type of runtime error has to do with "out of memory" problems. Conflicts with the Terminate and Stay Resident (TSR) programs or other open apps, memory issues, computer viruses and software trouble are the main causes of runtime errors.

Dealing With Runtime Errors

Most runtime errors can be fixed. Troubleshooting runtime errors starts with entering the specific runtime error code that appeared on major search engines. Gathering as much info on the particular code will help in finding the appropriate solution for it.

Once more information is available regarding the runtime errors encountered, it's time to do something. Consider performing the following activities:

* End-task all of the TSRs and other programs that are currently running to ensure that none of these are the culprit. To do this access Task Manager and hit Ctrl-Alt-Delete.

* For issues that have to do with the operating system (OS), consider OS reinstallation, but this is a pretty serious undertaking. In Windows 2000 or XP, a better option would be to try repairs for either Windows 2000 or XP computers. Scanning and repairing files can be done this way: Go to Start then Run. In the field provided, type: sfc/scannow and hit Enter. Make sure there's a space between "sfc" and "/."

* If the problem again and again happens with a particular application, visit that website of that program's developer and download any patches and updates. If there's none available, consider uninstalling then reinstalling the program concerned.

* Some runtime errors are cause by other plug-ins, add-ons or extra program software that were installed on the PC and are associated with the application generating the runtime error. If the additional program software installed is related to the application generating the run-time error message, make sure there are no available updates for the said programs, or try uninstalling to verify that they're not causing the issue.

* Update the definition files of the utilized anti-spyware and antivirus programs. Run regular exhaustive bug detection scans as these malware have the ability to cause a number of runtime errors.

* If the runtime errors still persist, the problem might lie with the system memory or it could be a hardware issue. In this situation, it would be best to get in touch with the program's technical support center for assistance. Contacting the motherboard or PC manufacturer could also be useful.

Issues with memory can often be settled with a simple reboot. But treat reboots as temporary fixes. Reboots clear up the memory, however, if the computer has insufficient memory or hard drive space for the applications being run, users will soon run short on memory again. Check that the hard drive has a minimum of 100 to 500MB free space so the swap file size can still expand.

To find out how much free space a PC has: go to My Computer. Right-click the hard drive (usually drive C:) and then from the menu select Properties and view the capacity of the disk. If the space is cramped, run disk cleanup by hitting the tab labeled Disk Cleanup and following the instructions.

Failing memory chips could also give rise to runtime errors. Taking out the troublesome memory chip and replacing it with a functioning one will get rid of the problem. For other runtime-related issues and errors like installation run-time error messages, consider cleaning out the registry's flawed or invalid portions using a registry cleaner.

Jack Tweed Faces Further Assault Charges…

While his terminally ill wife is currently undergoing surgery in a desperate bid to alleviate the excruciating pain she's in, Jack Tweed made his way to Epping Magistrates Court to face further charges of assault.

This time Jade’s 21-year-old husband stands accused of attacking a taxi driver at 50mph after losing his temper over the fare. According to reports he, “grabbed the driver round the neck and threatened to stab him after refusing to pay the £50 cab fare upfront.”

Taxi driver Stephen Wilkins claims, “He got hold of me with his arm. Pulled his arm around my neck and held it against the headrest.

“He was leaning over me, over the back seat, with his face alongside my face screaming... He leant forward and yanked the handbrake up. He was screaming in my face. He was so, so aggressive.”

He also claims there was another man in the car that found the situation highly amusing and, “He (the second man) just kept shouting out, ’News of the World. Jack Tweedy. News of the World. Jack Tweedy’.”

Mr Tweed denies assault by beating, which if found guilty carries a possible jail term of six months.

Chris Brown Is Living It Up In Miami...

Following his alleged assault on girlfriend Rihanna last month, singer Chris Brown finally emerged and spent the weekend riding the waves on Miami Beach.

Sporting a ‘Billionaire Boys Club’ t-shirt, Chris was all smiles as he cruised along on his jet ski.

Now we’re not sure how we expected him to look and it’s not like he can walk around holding an ‘I’m sorry’ placard, but there’s something about his big smile that just doesn’t sit comfortably with us. Especially when you compare these pictures to how depressed Rihanna looked when she was spotted in Mexico last week. It just doesn’t seem right does it?!

Brown is due in court this Thursday to face charges of assault and making criminal threats.

David Beckham To Stay In Milan Permanently

David Beckham looked like he was very accustomed to life in Milan last night when he attended the Dolce & Gabbana beauty campaign launch party, which is lucky considering AC Milan - who he is currently on temporary loan to – are looking to extend his contract until June, before attempting to sign him permanently after that!

Which beggars the question; will Victoria Beckham finally consider ditching her La La land lifestyle for good? Or is she too attached to the glamour and allure of Hollywood? Discuss...

The Biggest Comeback Of All Time…

Musical superstar Michael Jackson arrived in London today ahead of rumoured talks to confirm a series of gigs at London’s O2 Arena this summer.

The star's spokesperson revealed he is going to make a “special announcement” on Thursday but they refused to confirm speculation about the concerts so we guess we’ll just have to wait and see.

Back Up Your Data

Today's home computers have some wonderful features. The digital age has brought together some of our favorite past times and hobbies, such as photography, videos, and music.

Not that long ago, all of these activities were very much separated.

Photos taken with a film camera had to be developed into slides or prints in order to view and share them. If you wanted to send photos to relatives or friends, you had to pay for more print copies and send them in the mail. The photos themselves were most likely stored in a photo album or a box of some kind that ends up in the basement or attic.

Video tape recordings had to be played back on a VCR so that you could view the tape on your television. The video tape cassettes were stored in some kind of container or cabinet.

To listen to music you had to turn on a radio or a stereo system. Vinyl records were the only way to purchase music at one time and you needed a turntable or record player to play them. Next came music cassette tapes which made it possible to listen to your favorites in your car.

Of course, all of this happened in the "pre-digital age". Nowadays, we take photos with our digital camera and can view them immediately. No more film to buy and process. We take videos with our digital video camera, no tape, just a memory card or a hard drive. We no longer have to go to a store to buy music. We download it from the internet. It seems like the compact disc came and went in the blink of an eye as far as music is concerned! I know that you can still purchase music CD's, but for how much longer?

Now, all of this "digital media" from our various hobbies and activities can be brought together into one location where they can be manipulated and edited into one glorious presentation. A vacation video complete with music and dialogue is quite easily done by anyone at home with the right software. Yes! The personal computer has made all of this possible. Isn't it amazing how far we have progressed even in just the last twenty years!

The digital age has also drastically changed the way we store our precious photos and files. I imagine most people rely on their home computer for storing their digital media, which makes sense. It has a much larger hard drive and memory than a camera or an MP3 (music file) player.

This is all well and good as long as your computer and hard drive are in good working order. But as we all know, machines break, and if you are prepared for it, it can be a minor inconvenience. However, if you are not prepared, it can be a huge disaster.

Being prepared in the computer world means having a backup of your photos, videos, music, and data. Without a proper backup, you are really taking a gamble on whether you will be able to enjoy your memorable moments in the future. A hard drive crash can result in a complete loss of your data in an instant. Sometimes the data can be recovered by various means and sometimes not. There is no guarantee. There are companies that will charge a hefty amount to attempt to recover your data, but again the results are not guaranteed.

So how much are photos of your family worth? You can't put a price on such things. Why risk it? External USB hard drives are coming down in price every week. As of this writing you can get a 160 gigabyte external USB drive for around $60. That will probably sound ridiculously high a year from now. Even the USB jump drives that you can carry in your pocket like a package of gum are increasing in size. Recently, the upper limit is about 15GB, but it has probably increased even as I finish this sentence. Backing up your important data has never been easier than it is right now. There is no excuse and you can't say that you haven't been warned.
